As we enter the year 2023, it’s important to remember the power of pushing through fear. Sope Agbelusi reminds us that in order to triumph over something, we must face it head-on and take action. It’s easy to talk about our plans and intentions, but true growth and learning come from actually doing what we set out to do.

Reflecting on his own journey and that of his family, Sope realized that the key to success is getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. As Nelson Mandela famously said, “The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” It’s natural to feel scared and uncertain as we embark on a new year, but we mustn’t let fear hold us back.

Instead of avoiding fear and pain, we should embrace them as opportunities for growth. Often, we discover that our fears were not as daunting as we initially thought. So don’t be afraid to tackle your fears and embrace the unknown.

To overcome any obstacle or challenge, we must take bold action. It’s not enough to simply make plans and discuss our goals. True progress comes from actually doing what we set out to do. Don’t let your fears hold you back from taking action and achieving your goals.

In this episode, Sope reflects on his own experiences of “doing it scared.” He shares moments when he felt scared but pushed through anyway. It’s an inspiring reminder that fear should not dictate our actions.
